What is the DV-2025 Lottery Program? The U.S. DV (Diversity Visa) Lottery Program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, provides 55,000 Diversity Visas each fiscal year to persons drawn from randomly selected entries. Winning entrants are from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States and must meet strict eligibility requirements. Officially called the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, the DV Lottery provides a U.S. green card to those who are selected and who go through the process of obtaining a U.S. Immigrant Visa. This year, the U.S. Department of State will again offer the Diversity Visa Program, which will provide winners with legal entrance to the U.S. Entries made in 2023 are for the DV-2025 Lottery, as January 2025 will be when winners are allowed to immigrate permanently to the United States. By then, permanent residence card winners are required to have submitted all of their immigration forms and successfully participated in a green card interview at the nearest Embassy to their current place of residence. Online registration for DV-2025 will only be available on the State Department website between October and November 2023

Can I bring my family immediately? Your immediate family (legal spouse and children) are automatically entitled to Green Cards when you win. Let us check about other family members.

What services does the AFISUSA provide? The AFISUAS is a private company (not affiliated with the U.S. government) established in 2020 that guarantees participation in the Diversity Visa (Green Card) Lottery for its thousands of clients around the world by assisting them in properly preparing and submitting their applications and photos to the DV-Lottery.

How will I know the results of the DV Lottery? We will make sure to notify you as soon as we get the results. We’ll make sure this happens as quickly as possible so that you can be prepared for the next step.

Who can Apply? Every person born in an eligible country with either a valid work or education qualification can apply.

May I go to any state I want? YES! You absolutely may.

May I apply twice? Sorry! You may not, as under State Department regulations, two applications under the same name will both be disqualified and prevent the applicant from participating in the lottery that year. Please inform us if you have already entered the upcoming DV lottery.

What are my chances of winning? Every year, 110,000 people are drawn from the DV Lottery, and 55,000 of them will win U.S. Green Cards. Many countries are not eligible to participate, and your chances may also vary based on your marital status. Leave us your details, and one of our experts will get in touch with you to explain the process and discuss your chances.

Can I apply for a few years? Yes, If you did not win the first time, you should certainly re-apply. We offer an automatic re-entry service to secure your opportunity to win the next DV Lottery selection.

My parents are elderly. Can they join me in the U.S.? Once you win, you may apply for citizenship. Generally, U.S. citizens get priority when petitioning to bring family members permanently to the United States.

I’m not legally married, but have been with my partner for several years. Should I apply as single? United States citizens and green card holders may file a petition to bring their foreign-national spouses to live in the U.S. as permanent residents.

Am I eligible for the green card lottery if I’m married to a U.S. citizen or have other family in the United States? If you’re married to a U.S. citizen, you could still apply for the Diversity Visa lottery. However, there’s little advantage to doing so, since you will almost always be able to come to the United States sooner by applying for a marriage-based green card instead. If you have another family member who could sponsor your green card, it might still be worthwhile to apply for the Diversity Visa lottery. Some family-based immigration categories—for example, siblings of U.S. citizens—take a very long time, and you would be able to come to the United States much sooner if you won the Diversity Visa lottery.

Is there a minimum age to apply for a Diversity Visa? There is no minimum age requirement, but the need for a high school education or work experience disqualifies most people under 18 from applying.

How long does it take to get a Diversity Visa? The winners of the green card lottery are generally notified 7 months after applying. It can take up to 14 months to for the government to schedule your interview and issue your visa, depending on how soon you apply for your visa.

How many Diversity Visas will go to each eligible country? United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) calculates the number of Diversity Visas allocated to each country based on a formula outlines in Section 203(c) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). No one country can received more than 7% of the total number of Diversity Visas available each year.
